What is a LIFE Group?
Community Evangelical Church was inspired by Rick Warren’s book “The Purpose-Driven Life” and the 40 Days of Purpose spiritual growth campaign to grow closer to God and to each other. LIFE Groups were organized to provide individuals with a place to grow spiritually and to connect on a personal level with each other.
God wants us to connect with one another as brothers and sisters in his family. He commands us to “love one another, encourage one another, forgive one another, and to carry one another’s burdens” (John 1:12, Galatians 6:2, Ephesians 4:32, 1 Thessalonians 5:11). Through the participation in LIFE Groups, it is our hope to strenghten and support one another in a way that is honoring to God.
What does a LIFE Group do?
A LIFE Group meets at least once a month (the number of meetings vary with each LIFE Group) with a specific focus of study. The group will study God’s Word, engage in interactive discussions, and spend time in fellowship. LIFE Groups provide a safe refuge to share concerns, struggles, and celebration. LIFE Groups become an extension of your own family in which you can pray for and support one another.
As friendships develop and grow, many LIFE Groups go beyond Bible studies into nights out for fellowship, and to community service projects. We encourage you to join a LIFE Group and see for yourself how your life can be changed!.
Confidential Agreement of a Life Group
We recognize that it can be difficult to share your personal thoughts and experiences. Trust is critical when participating in a LIFE Group. Participants in a LIFE Group pledge to keep everything that is discussed during a Bible study confidential within that group. We want to establish a safe environment for all members to be heard, feel loved and accepted, and know that what they say will not be talked about outside of the group. So take a risk, share what you think and grow!
